My FMCSA details are wrong
Why the federal record lags reality, when that changes what you pay, and what to do about it.
Checked over on
It probably is, and it is not your fault. The federal record updates when you file an MCS-150, which is required every two years rather than whenever anything actually changes, and there is a lag between filing one and it showing up in the public data.
The one that costs you money
Power units. That figure sets your fee bracket, so if the record says twenty-two and you run eighteen, you are looking at the wrong price. Our form shows you what the register says and lets you say otherwise.
The one that changes who gets paid
Your physical address decides your base state, which decides which state receives the registration fee. Worth checking if you have moved.
The ones that are just wrong
Legal name and officer do not affect the price, but they go on what we file, so correct them if they need it.
Correcting our form fixes our filing. It does not touch your FMCSA record — only an MCS-150 does that.
Start with your USDOT number and we’ll fill in the rest from the federal register.
File UCR 2026 — from $96.00While you’re here
BOC-3, in plain English — Somebody in every state who can accept legal papers for you. That is the whole of it — and you cannot name yourself.
Do I owe UCR? — Almost certainly yes if you cross a state line — and quite possibly yes even if you own no trucks at all.
What UCR costs — The price steps with your fleet, in six jumps. Here is where the money goes and how much of it is ours.
